- 1/3 cup Oyster sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil (toasted)
- 1/3 cup Shaoxing Cooking Wine
- 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon White sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
- 3/4 pound Beef round steak, cut into 1/8-inch thick strips
- 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger root, minced
- 2 teaspoon Garlic, minced
- 1 pound Broccoli, cut into florets
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a medium-large bowl, whisk together oyster sauce, sesame oil, shaoxing cooking wine, soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the beef strips in and stir well to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in the broccoli, tossing and stirring in the hot oil for 1 minute. Push broccoli into a pile and slowly drizzle in the water over the broccoli. Cook until the water evaporates, then remove the broccoli from the wok and set aside.
- Add more oil to the wok if needed. Saute the ginger and garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the marinated beef. Cook until the sauce forms a glaze on the beef and the meat is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Return the cooked broccoli to the wok, and stir until the meat and broccoli are heated through, approximately 3 minutes.
