Our story

For years my wife (Holly) has struggled with recipe websites. The pages of stories before (and sometimes even sprinkled throughout) the actual recipes make them a chore to read. The random 1/2 screen large video that comes flying in from the side and covers the part you are reading, the confusing and difficult to navigate layouts, etc

I have seen her fight through these difficulties and have made a few attempts at a solution in the past, none ever made as far as this site. With my development skills improving and the dozens of recipes on sticky notes taking over our kitchen I set out to come up with a solution once and for all.

This website is intended to be a database for my wife's recipes, but we think it could be a useful destination for you as well. From our super useful conversion calculator giving you the ability to easily convert your measurements from metric to imperial, volume to weight, and vice versa. To our automated serving size adjuster, simply punch in your desired serving size and our ingredient list will dynamically adjust for you. And last but not least our simple and clean layout. Our recipe pages are straight to the point with no extra fluff.

Support us

We're committed to creating a recipe experience that's free from flashy, in-your-face ads and unnecessary life stories. The reason other sites have those long stories is SEO (search engine optimization) -- improving your likelihood of showing up as a result on google, bing, duckduckgo, etc.

Search engines favor sites with more content, and more specifically matching content. So if you want to show up when someone searches for 'chicken recipe' you need to write 'chicken recipe' a lot. You need to tell a story about the time your mother used to make this chicken recipe for her bridge group, and how Doreen used to make a similar chicken recipe but the bridge group preferred your mother's chicken recipe.

Since we don't plan on manipulating the system like that the biggest thing you can do to support us is share us.

Amazon affiliate program

To support our commitment, we've partnered with the Amazon Affiliate program. You'll notice affiliate links in the ingredients sections of our recipes. These links, styled to be unobtrusive with toned-down colors and no underlines, lead to products we genuinely use and believe in – and explicitly not the priciest ones.

Here's how you can help us keep the kitchen fires burning: Click on these links when you find them, whether you're making a purchase or not. When you make qualified purchases on Amazon after clicking our links, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It's a simple way to support our ad-free, life-story-free recipe experience.

Your clicks, even without a purchase, are a big favor to us. So, if you appreciate what we're cooking up here, lend a click every now and then to keep the flavors alive. Thank you for being part of the Holly's Kitchen community!

If you've found value in our content and wish to contribute, you can make a donation through PayPal to ensure we can keep this site going.
