Ingredients

  • 2 Steaks (e.g., Ribeye, Strip, Porterhouse, Sirloin)
  • To taste Salt
  • To taste Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme (dried or fresh)

  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Instructions

  2. Season both sides of the steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary. Press the seasoning into the steaks for better adherence.
  3. Place a cast-iron pan on the stove and heat it as hot as possible.
  4. Add butter to the hot pan, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
  5. Sear the steaks for about 2 minutes on each side or until your desired level of char is achieved.
  6. Transfer the pan to the preheated oven and cook the steaks for 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness.
  7. Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Optional: Drizzle any remaining pan juices over the steaks before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the oven time based on your desired level of doneness (less time for rare, more time for well-done).
