- 2 Steaks (e.g., Ribeye, Strip, Porterhouse, Sirloin)
- To taste Salt
- To taste Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Thyme (dried or fresh)
- 1 teaspoon Rosemary (dried or fresh)
- 2 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
- Season both sides of the steaks with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary. Press the seasoning into the steaks for better adherence.
- Place a cast-iron pan on the stove and heat it as hot as possible.
- Add butter to the hot pan, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
- Sear the steaks for about 2 minutes on each side or until your desired level of char is achieved.
- Transfer the pan to the preheated oven and cook the steaks for 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferred doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Optional: Drizzle any remaining pan juices over the steaks before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the oven time based on your desired level of doneness (less time for rare, more time for well-done).
