- 2 1/4 teaspoons Active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1/4 cup Warm water (105-110°F)
- 4 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups Warm water
- 2 tablespoons Butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon Salt
- 1/4 cup Parmesan
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon Dried basil
- 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in 1/4 cup warm water in a large bowl. Let it stand for about 15 minutes until the yeast forms a creamy foam.
- Add flour, 1 1/4 cups warm water, 2 tablespoons softened butter, and 1 tablespoon salt. Knead until the dough is well mixed and soft, about 3 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a 2-foot log, then cut it into 16 equal pieces, each about 1 1/2 inches wide.
- [Optional] Split the dough into 4 equal sections. Roll one section into breadsticks and leave the other 3 in a ball. Let them rise for 1 hour. Freeze the 3 dough balls for up to 3 months.
- Garlic bread seasoning: Mix all ingredients and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the breadsticks for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, brush with butter, and sprinkle with the garlic bread seasoning mix.
