Baked BBQ Chicken

Ingredients
- 5 lbs Whole chicken, cut up
- To taste Garlic pepper seasoning
- 4 tablespoons Butter, melted
- 1/2 cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 6 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons Chili powder
- 2 teaspoons Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon Salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Pat chicken dry and place on a lightly greased foil-lined baking sheet. Season generously with garlic pepper seasoning.
- To make the BBQ sauce, melt butter, then mix in water, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire, ketchup, mustard, butter, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, red pepper flakes, and salt in a bowl.
- Cover both sides of the chicken with BBQ sauce.
- Bake skin side up for 40-45 minutes, basting with the BBQ sauce every 15 minutes.
- Turn the oven to broil for the last two minutes of baking and broil for 1-2 minutes to crisp up the skin. Watch it carefully.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5-7 minutes before serving.
